As I prepare for another bladder surgery, the future feels uncertain. But God’s Guidance remains sure. When I cannot see the path ahead, I can trust Him to Fight my battles and Lead the way.
As I surrender control and follow His Direction, God receives the glory and I reap the rewards of His Faithfulness. Rest assured—God’s got this.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” – Matthew 6:34
Right now, in this moment, sitting surrounded by God’s Creation on my screened porch, there is peace. Not because everything is certain – the diagnosis isn’t final, the surgery date looms ahead, the future holds questions without answers yet. The peace exists because God is here, right now, in this breath, in this heartbeat, in this quiet space He’s carved out.
Today doesn’t require knowing what June 27th surgery will bring. Today only asks for trust in this moment. Today is about recognizing that the same God who painted the trees surrounding this porch, who orchestrated the symphony of creation that whispers His Faithfulness, is the God who holds every uncertain tomorrow in His Capable hands.
His Plans are for good. Not just eventually, not just when everything works out the way we hope, but right now. Even with questions hanging in the air. Even with a surgery date on the calendar. Even when the path ahead looks nothing like what was expected or wanted. His heart toward His children is Always, Always Good.
The peace that settles over weary hearts doesn’t come from having all the answers. It comes from knowing the One who does. It comes from the assurance that nothing – no diagnosis, no surgery, no uncertain future – can separate us from His Love. It comes from the truth that He is Present in this moment, not absent until the storm passes.
Tomorrow will have its own grace when tomorrow comes. June will have its own provisions when June 27th arrives. But today – this moment, this breath, this heartbeat – today has this: God’s Presence, His Peace, and His Promise that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him.
The future may hold surgery, recovery, adjustment, learning new ways of living. But it also holds His Continued Faithfulness, His Abiding Presence, and His Unshakeable Love. What comes will come with Him in it, not despite Him being absent from it.
For now, it is enough to sit in this peace, surrounded by His Creation, held by His Love, trusting in His Goodness. The rest will unfold as it needs to, when it needs to, with His Grace sufficient for whatever each day requires.
