When God Has a Different Plan for Us

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails” – Proverbs 19:21

I was ready for my 23rd surgery on May 3. Had made all my plans and notifications when a phone call came to tell me a new date and familiar location—January16…so thankful that my anesthesia/surgical team knew what is best for me, as guided by God; Vanderbilt vs outpatient surgical center.

A change in plans can be God’s invitation to stop, look, and listen, as my anesthesia/surgical team did. Also, a change in plans can be God’s reminding me that He is in control and sees a bigger picture… as He did in this situation. Thankful and grateful that God intervenes.

We need to remember that everything belongs to God because He made everything. If He made everything then He gets to decide how everything works. When He changes our plans, it is because He knows things we do not know, and what is good for us.

I can move forward in faith, not fear – leaning on God, and not trusting my own understanding.
