For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. – Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)
Today, we are reaching upward for God’s perspective on all the blessings scattered before us. Picture this: you have just opened a 1000-piece puzzle box, but there is no lid showing you the final picture. Instead, you dump all the pieces onto your table and spread them out. Some pieces catch your eye immediately – bright colors, distinctive shapes, obvious edges. Others seem random, confusing, even like they do not belong. And still others are face-down, waiting to be discovered.
This is exactly what God’s blessings may look like in our lives.
As I sit on my screened porch looking out at the beautiful landscape I have come to love, I am reminded that six months ago, being cancer-free seemed like an impossible dream. That blessing was scattered somewhere among all the other pieces of my life – the treatments, the side effects, the uncertainty, the waiting. I could not see how any of it fit together. But God could see the whole picture.
Right now, as you read this, God has scattered blessings all around your life. Some are obvious – that phone call from a friend, an unexpected check in the mail, a beautiful sunset that took your breath away. These are your corner pieces – the blessings you can clearly identify and hold onto.
But there are other blessings scattered there too. The ones that look confusing right now. The difficult conversation that felt uncomfortable but may be reshaping a relationship. The ministry opportunity that felt overwhelming but is opening your heart in new ways. The health challenge that is teaching you to depend on God in ways you never have before. These blessings are still face-down, waiting for God’s Light to reveal their true purpose.
And then there are the blessings you cannot even see yet – the ones still in God’s hands, waiting for the perfect moment to be placed into your life’s picture.
The beautiful truth is this: God is not playing hide-and-seek with your blessings. He is not randomly scattering good things and hoping you will stumble upon them. Every blessing – the obvious ones and the mysterious ones – has been intentionally placed in your life as part of His Perfect Plan.
As I start to put my blessing pieces together, it looks like God has been building one of my favorite structures – a lighthouse! His Light has been guiding me through every treatment, every side effect, every moment of uncertainty. And I will be anxious to see if He is going to add one of my other favorites – will I find a bunny rabbit somewhere in my puzzle? I will have to wait and see what other delightful surprises He has planned. Of course, my pieces will be different than your pieces – God has scattered unique blessings specifically designed for your life’s picture.
Now I understand! Like a lighthouse beam that sweeps across the water, His Light illuminates different blessings at different times, helping you see how they are meant to fit together. The lighthouse He is building in my life is not just a beautiful image – it is how He works, steadily guiding through every storm, every dark night, every uncertain passage.
Your blessings are not random. They are not accidents. They are not consolation prizes. They are intentional gifts from a God who sees the complete picture and is revealing it to you piece by piece, blessing by blessing.
Let us climb higher to see how this blessing fits as we discover together that Gods Light is always shining, always guiding, always revealing the next piece of His beautiful Plan for your life.
