Seeds of Tomorrow

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

Today every choice we make plants something for tomorrow. Like a gardener who carefully selects which seeds to place in the soil, we have the power to choose what we cultivate in our lives and relationships.

Consider the small moments: the patience you show when someone cuts you off in traffic, the genuine smile you offer a stressed cashier, the time you spend really listening to a friend. These are not grand gestures, but they are seeds nonetheless—tiny investments in the kind of world you want to live in.

Some days it feels like nothing is growing. The ground looks barren, and you wonder if your efforts matter. But beneath the surface, roots are spreading, shoots are forming, and life is stirring in ways you cannot yet see. The colleague you treated with respect during a difficult project may remember your kindness months later. The child you encouraged today may carry those words for years. Even the person who cut you off in traffic might drive a little more thoughtfully after witnessing your grace.

This is what waiting faithfully looks like: continuing to water what you have planted even when you cannot see the sprouts. It means choosing forgiveness again when someone hurts you. It means speaking truth in love even when it is not at once received. It means investing in relationships even when they feel one-sided. This is not passive waiting—it is active cultivation of the life you want to see bloom.

The beautiful truth is that you do not need to see immediate results to know your seeds are valuable. Every act of compassion, every moment of integrity, every choice to build rather than tear down creates a ripple effect that extends far beyond your view. Trust the process. Keep planting. Your harvest will come in ways you never expected, often through the very people whose lives you have quietly touched.
