I saw my primary physician today regarding my peripheral edema, which has now progressed to pitting and extends from my feet halfway up my calves. I have been prescribed Lasix 40 mg daily for one week, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for next Wednesday.
I am still struggling with sleep—averaging only two to five hours a day in a chair—and I continue to experience sharp pain when bending over or lying down. My doctor is monitoring me closely and consulting with Vanderbilt concerning my ongoing pain and this second occurrence of edema since January. He is determining whether this situation falls under his direct care or theirs. Since he will be leaving his practice in June, I am in the process of finding a new physician, though I am blessed to personally know several capable doctors.
Despite these challenges, I want to share that I am improving daily—physically, mentally, and spiritually. I feel God watching over me, and I am at peace knowing that while my physicians handle their responsibilities, God is faithfully handling His. I see His hand guiding me through each moment of this storm.
