“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
There are seasons when we discover, with startling clarity, just how limited our own strength truly is. Perhaps it’s a diagnosis that changes everything. Or circumstances that require more than we have to give. In those moments, the gap between what we need and what we possess becomes painfully real.
This is precisely where God Meets us.
His invitation doesn’t come when we have pulled ourselves together. He calls to us in our weakness, in our weariness, in those moments when even the smallest task feels monumental. “Come close to me,” He Whispers. Not when you are stronger. Not when you have figured it out. NOW. As you are.
Our adversary would have us believe that our weakness disqualifies us from God’s Presence, That we should wait until we are more presentable, more faithful, more something. But His Word tells a different story.
God’s Strength is made Perfect in weakness. His Power flows most freely through cracked vessels. When we finally stop striving and simply abide—lingering in His Presence even when we cannot do much else—we discover what religion could never teach us: His JOY becomes our strength. His Peace defies our circumstances. His Love holds us when we cannot hold ourselves.
This isn’t passive resignation. This is ACTIVE trust. This is choosing, moment by moment, to rest in the One Who never grows weary, never fails, never lets go. And somehow, mysteriously, as we abide in Him, strength we didn’t manufacture begins to rise. Not always in the way we expect or the timing we prefer, but in the way we truly need.
You are not forgotten. You are not too weak, too tired, or too far gone. You are held in hands that will never release you. And the same God who spoke galaxies into existence is speaking strength into your weary soul right now.
