He Will Carry You

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

In the darkest hours of the night, when sleep eludes us and worries feel overwhelming, we often find ourselves at our most vulnerable. These moments of weakness can become sacred ground where God’s presence is most powerfully experienced. As the song “He Will Carry You” by Brian Free & Assurance reminds us, it is precisely when we feel we cannot go on that God carries us.

The midnight hours can be especially challenging—when the world sleeps but our minds race with concerns, when prayers seem to echo in empty rooms. Yet Scripture promises that God is near to the brokenhearted. There is a profound paradox in the Christian walk: strength often comes through surrender. When we reach the end of our own resources, when worries strip away the illusion of control, we face a choice. We can strive harder, or we can, as the song says, “fall apart, fall into His arms.”

This surrender is not giving up; it is giving over. It is acknowledging that we were never meant to carry our burdens alone. Even in moments when pain tempts us toward anger or despair, He remains unchanging in His love. When we feel weakest, His strength becomes most evident. His heart is never weary. He does not grow tired, even when we do. Through floods and fires, through the toughest fights and longest nights, He remains constant—ready to lift us when our strength is gone.
