Mark 11:24 (NIV)
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Joshua 6:2-5 (GNT)
“The Lord said to Joshua, ‘I am putting into your hands Jericho, with its king and all its brave soldiers. You and your soldiers are to march around the city once a day for six days. Seven priests, each carrying a trumpet, are to go in front of the Covenant Ark. On the seventh day you and your soldiers are to march around the city seven times while the priests blow the trumpets. Then they are to sound one long note. As soon as you hear it, all the people are to give a loud shout, and the city walls will collapse. Then the whole army will go straight into the city.’”
Picture yourself standing before an enormous stone wall that has been there for generations. Now imagine someone telling you to walk around it for a week, and then it will collapse. Would you believe them?
This is exactly what the Israelites faced at Jericho. Massive walls. Impossible odds. The Lord’s instructions seemed completely inadequate—no siege equipment, no secret weapon. Just walking, trumpets, and trust.
For six long days, nothing changed. Not a single crack appeared. No stones loosened. Can you imagine their thoughts? “Are we crazy? This is not working.”
But Scripture says the walls fell “by faith.” Victory happened in their hearts before it happened in reality.
This is believing prayer. When you truly know someone’s character, you do not wait to thank them until after they deliver on a promise. You thank them immediately because you trust who they are.
The Lord’s Character is Flawless . His Promises Never Fail.
When we pray, we are not convincing the Almighty to care or informing Him of something He’s missed.
We are bringing our needs to the One Who already Loves us Perfectly . And when we genuinely believe He hears and will answer according to His Wisdom , gratitude flows naturally—even while we wait.
The question is simple: Do you know the Lord well enough to thank Him now for what He Will do later?
