Week 2
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.” — Isaiah 43:2 (ESV)
There are moments in life when the path we are walking simply vanishes. One day the road stretches clearly ahead, and the next it is hidden—covered by illness, loss, relationship strain, or circumstances beyond our control. In those moments, uncertainty can feel overwhelming, leaving us searching for something steady to hold.
Scripture assures us that even when we “walk through the darkest valley,” we need not fear, because God is with us (Psalm 23:4 ESV). The path may disappear, but our Guide remains constant. Unexpected job loss, sudden health crises, family tensions that surface without warning—these are not signs of God’s absence. They are invitations to experience His presence in deeper ways.
Sometimes uncertainty becomes God’s classroom. There we learn to trust the Guide more than the route. We may not see where we are going, but we can know Who walks beside us. His promise stands firm: “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV). Some of His greatest works unfold precisely when we cannot see how.
Reflection: Identify one situation in your life where the path feels unclear. How might God be inviting you to trust His presence rather than demanding to see the outcome?
Next week: Discover the beautiful companions that strengthen our faith journey—hope and perseverance.
